Job Type:

Existing insulation:

  • Ceiling - R2.8 EarthWool (Knauf Insulation)

  • Underfloor - R1.5 Polyester (non-compliant)

Products used:

  • Premier Glasswool R1.8 (75mm)

  • Premier Polyester R1.5 500m₂

  • Ground Vapour Barrier R1.5 600m₂

Total install duration:

  • Approximately 8 hours.

Cost to client:

  • Zero cost - Funding provided by the EECA Warmer Kiwi Homes Grant, Foundation North and Premier West.

Overview


Home built in the 1980's. There had been two separate insulation installs. The current energy efficiency of the home was below EECA standards which resulted in loss of heat throughout the home.

Process:


Our installers started the job by cleaning and clearing the ceiling debris and fix the existing ceiling insulation. The existing ceiling insulation was then layered with a Premier Glass Wool blanket and fitted to meet regulatory compliance by correcting the clearances around the flues and the electrical heat sources.


Outcome:


The end result was reduction in heat loss, reduction in dust and microparticles, safety clearances made compliant and the overall look was clean and tidy.
